About Us
Our Story
in 2023 Refugees where moved outside of towns into camps in rural areas. One of this places is Malakasa, about 40 km north of Athens.
Ministries that served refugees in Athens for many years had to find a new response to this changed and new situation. Some of them started outreaches on a parking lot near the camps, not only in Malakasa. But all of them lacked basic infrastructure, which made preparing the outreach more exhausting than the actual ministry.
After this pionieering phase, God gave the vision of a shared community centre in Malakasa to focus again more on serving refugees than on the infrastructure. The founding families got connected in spring 2024 and clicked immediatly. Sharing the vision with others and looking for a suitable place took time until Autumn that year. In November 2024 a rental contract was signed and we could start painting and remodeling the old Tavern.
A year later, more than 10 different organizations with volunteers from at least 7 different nations make this dream happening to serve refugees as the united body of Christ.
We are driven by values
We believe everyone should have the chance to listen to the Gospel at least once in his live. As every refugee comes with a different background and personality, we are happy to match this with the broad range of personalities within our volunteers.
We believe and experienced already that working together as the body of Christ, is a great testimony for people coming by. For that we focus on the central parts of the Gospel and keep more difficult areas of Faith for mature believers.
